The company "BALTIJAS URBĒJS" makes repair of subsurface utilities, including pulling of the pipes of smaller diameter inside the existing service lines, as well as the replacement of existing pipelines (cast iron, ceramic) to the large-diameter pipelines. The equipment used allows us to lay pipelines of polyethylene, steel and cast iron pipes. The company can broach several pipes simultaneously, as well as lay new subsurface utility engineering in parallel nearby the existing ones.
Our technical capabilities allow us to lay pipelines:
- At a depth of 20 meters;
- Up to 500 meters long;
- Up to 800 mm in diameter.
The use of modern locator systems Digitrak "Eclipse" and F5, available in the arsenal of the company, allows us to continuously monitor the position of the drill head, to control the drilling process based on the multiparameter location data, i.e., to change the direction and depth, avoid obstacles, carry out pipe installation near utilities and constructions.

Brief description of the technological process.
The process of horizontal directional drilling takes place in several stages.
A special drilling rig equipped with a locating system carries out directional drilling of a small diameter hole along a predetermined path from the ground surface. Then the hole is expanded to a diameter predetermined in the project and we drag through it a whip of welded or, in the case of cast iron pipes, connected working pipes or a sleeve (jacket) for operating pipeline. In the process of expansion (from a smaller to a larger size) the hole is filled with drilling mud, which performs the function of cooling the tool, reducing friction, strengthening the walls of the hole when broaching the pipeline, and removal of excess soil. After the expansion the pipeline is being tightened.
The process of tightening and assembly of the pipeline requires only a few hours.
